I also liked the 07 Bendigo Pinot Noir, a dual gold-medal winner with a deepish colour and a full aroma of dark plum, cherry pip and spice underlined by stylish oak.
 

2007 Aurora Pinot Noir NZ$35. One of the regions largest growers (Ed- not true!), Aurora keeps selected parcels for its own label and this is arguably one of the region's great bargains. Nicely defined and finely balanced, it's packed with richly spiced fruit and supply tannins. 

93 points, The Aurora Bendigo Pinot Noit. From out in the barren warmth of the Bendigo Hills, ripe, bright berry compote, superb concentration of fruit aromas, dark cherry and some sweet pastry too. The acid bits in throughg the entry, ripe and rich, supple flesh through the middle, tannins weigh in through the back, cherry fie finish, An authoritative pinot.
