Winewise Alert: When a producer submits four wines to a Winewise panel tasting and two wines rate Outstanding with the remaining two rating Highly Recommended, you sit up and take notice. When the producer is revealed as originating from Central Otago and two of the wines are unveiled as shiraz, you almost double over. No, this can't be right you say, Central Otago is famous for pinot noir, not shiraz!

 

Make no mistake, these are wines of the higest quality....quite frankly, even New Zealanders don't appreciate how good the shiraz is.
